Your Coffee Shop Can Serve More Than Coffee
Your favorite coffee shop can become a great place to hang out. I love to drink coffee but I like to visit with people too. I also need to have my own space and quiet time on a regular basis. I have found a coffee shop can offer me all of that so it just depends on what I want on a given day. I definitely enjoy going to a coffee shop for some down time after a hectic day.
A coffee shop provides me with the perfect location to do just that. While most of them are swamped early in the morning, I find the afternoon is the ideal time to go and find plenty of empty chairs. It is also a great way to get out of the house and away from the work there that I haven’t yet finished.
In my book, the money I spend for afternoon coffee and to relax in the atmosphere is money well spent. It definitely improves my mood and that tends to keep my entire family happier. Sometimes I go to a different coffee shop just depending on where In am in town. If I’m in a certain mood the decor of one might appeal to me more than others.
Even though I often have to rush from one task to the next during my day, that all stops when I go to the coffee shop. I guess that is why I enjoy it so much. Here I have the ability to reflect on my day and spend some time going over my thoughts. I often read magazine articles or a good book too if I’m alone. I try not to bring any type of work along with me to the coffee shop or it loses that appeal. Yet I do see many people in there around me doing various types of work.
I don’t always want to go to the coffee shop alone though and that’s a choice for you as well. I may invite my spouse, a friend, or even a small group of friends to go with me once in a while. I’ve to tell you though that I really savor the alone time I get while resting at a coffee shop. Therefore I usually go by myself and just hang out for a short period of time. I also don’t have to keep an eye on the time to get there promptly to meet others if it is just my day to go alone.
If you have a local coffee shop you should step in and see if it has the same resting feel to it for you. Just walk in, order a drink, and find a table where you’ll be comfortable. You may notice people in there around the same time each day if you are going to stick with a regular routine for going to the coffee shop. It may be an each day thing for you or just something you do once in a while when you have the time.
There are several other benefits to hanging out at your local coffee shops as well. You can select new drinks to expand your taste buds. You can also get in there and sit down without having to deal with a crowd. You might find that the staff is able to interact with you more during these slower times of the day as well.
While you can definitely go to a coffee shop in the morning for your fix to get your day started, don’t forget it is there later on. You might find that spending even 30 minutes at the local coffee shop before you head home can help you make the transition from work to your home life. It can help you to reduce the stress in your life and focus on what you have to look forward to that evening.
