ACN Review: Scam Or Not?

Let’s start with the basics. ACN is a telecommunications company that started 15 years ago in Detroit. They offer a number of products that include home phone service, cell phone service, satellite tv, digital phone service, and the mother of all their products: the VIDEO PHONE.
ACN compensates its representatives in three different ways: personal residual income, overriding residual income, and bonuses. Representatives earn a “personal” residual income from the total billing of customers that they PERSONALLY REFER. You can make “up to 10%” but that is only if the monthly billing from your customers reaches $10,000 a month. For the most part, the personal residual income is so small that it is completely ignored.
The second type of residual income, overriding, is the same as personal residual income but with a twist. When you refer your friends and family to the business and they join, when THEY acquire customers themselves you TOO collect a percentage of those customers bills. Finally, the most important source of income for ACN representatives: team customer acquisition bonuses, otherwise known as TCAB’s. These are bonuses that are received when your organization grows. The amounts of these bonuses vary heavily since it is dependent on a number of factors. Put simply, when you or someone on your team signs up a new representative it counts towards your bonus for that given month. Depending on how many new sign ups occurred in a month for your organization, a certain bonus is paid. You basically get paid when you recruit new individuals into your business and when you acquire customers.
But the big question of the day is, does this work? Is it real? Is it legal? Are there hidden fees? And so on and so on. ACN has been in business for 15 years and they’ve been approved to do business in 20 countries which means 20 different governments have given them the OK. It isn’t a scam and it isn’t illegal. Furthermore, MANY people have made money with ACN and a select few have made A LOT of money. Individual results may vary, and you need to understand that in a business like ACN it is a PROVEN STATISTIC that an average of 97% of individuals FAIL. When it comes to multi level marketing, direct sales, direct marketing (whatever you want to call it) that is just how the cookie crumbles.
So the question isn’t whether ACN works, but rather if it is the BEST way to invest $499 and become financially free. Not necessarily. ACN’s model for building a business is VERY old school. You only have so many friends and acquaintances and I can GUARANTEE that the top earners in the company go far and beyond their circle of friends to recruit people into the business. Some representatives do advertisement in classifieds, signs on the road, ads in the internet, and more. You’ll even find some of them go out into highly public areas and just talk to strangers. More than likely, you are NOT going to make your millions by simply talking to your friends. Eventually you will HAVE to branch out and for most people that is an uncomfortable thought.
