Can a Layoff Cause Anxiety Attack?
Anxiety attack is unpredictable, sudden, often discrete or not and is defined by a experience of fear, uncomfortableness and different other cognitive or somatic symptoms. In nearly all cases an anxiety attack comes along without any obvious cause altho one always exists. The one hurting might or might not actualize what goes on but his subconscious mind acknowledges it all. In most cases an anxiety attack will last about 10 minutes but can be even shorter, lasting only approximately five minutes. Then again, we likewise experience austere cases of anxiousness attacks that are induced from a cyclical series of episodes and could even last for hours. Anxiety attacks will affect people differently and few persons can even last out one as they experience it is about to come along.
Why There Are Panic Attacks
Anxiety attacks can be triggered by many different reasons. High school and college years can develop panic attacks for younger people as there can be several different events causing stress. Young people might experience even humiliation during these years and that can trigger panic attack symptoms.
As the fear of that attack repeating is quite strong there’s a tendency for one to become prone to second attack. Fear of public speaking is one of the most common type of panic attacks linked with teenagers. This particular fear and cause for anxiety is one of the most common reasons for anxiety in all age groups. The great thing is that most panic and anxiety attacks are relatively easily treated.
Heredity also plays a huge role in anxiety attacks. Panic disorders run in the family and inheritance genes actually play a very strong role in determining who will get an anxiety attack. There are also many biological causes that can cause them including vitamin B deficiency, obsessive compulsive disorders, post traumatic stress disorders and the list can go on.
Phobias will also cause panic attacks and there are also many short-term triggering causes that include significant personal loss, different life changes and stimulants such as caffeine or nicotine. One important life change can be considered a layoff. Individuals might develop an anxiety attack if they are laid off from work.

The Layoff Process
In most cases a layoff means that the company needs to cut down costs and needs to fire people in order to survive. There are also remote cases where other reasons for laying off an individual can be a reality but we are not going to talk about that now. Smaller companies will rarely have the means to offer valuable compensation to the individual that is laid off.
These circumstances can lead to anxiety and panic attacks. If the company is larger, they can offer certain amounts of money as a “gift”. These are not usually very large, but at least it can make a difference for your life while you are looking for another job.
The best thing an individual can do when laid off is to talk to friends, family and ask for support. It can make a huge difference. The people that are close to the individual can aid him get back onto his feet and can bring a huge element in that can prevent the appearance of an anxiety attack. If one of your friends or family members has been laid off, be sure to contact him and offer as much support as you can.
We, as human beings, have the means to help or destroy others. In these kind of cases, aiding another person is the thing you should do. Anxiety and panic attacks are not easy to deal with and if someone is suffering from them, he/she needs your full support. It is very simple; we have the means to help our friends and family members when they have bad times, like lay offs, in their life. In return, they can help us if and when the need raises.
