Corset Bustier

A corset bustier, alternately bustiere, is an article of clothing for women, which is form-fitting and is traditionally worn as lingerie. Its primary purpose is to push up the bust by tightening against the upper midriff and forcing the breasts to move up, while gently shaping the waist This piece of lingerie reaches down only to the ribs or the waist and has a different function. It looks somewhat like a Basque, but a bustier is shorter and extends from the breasts to the hips, though modern bustiers usually only reach until the lower midriff.

The difference between a corset bustier and a corset is the boning. A corset bustier has light boning so it is not as stiff and rigid as an ordinary corset, so it can give only a lighter support to the body. However, it can also give the body a good shape.

The bustier can also be worn as a half-slip under diaphanous upper garments if a bold display of the midriff is not desired. In modern days, women wear a bustier as an undergarment/push up bra in the occasion that their office clothes, bridal wear or evening gowns, especially if their outer-wear has a low-back. Non-machine washable, this piece of underwear should only be cleaned with cold water, for the hot water could ruin the boning and wear out the elastic materials.

The bra cups include underwire in a corset bustier. Made of lace fabric, it has garter straps for stockings that are often removable. They have the ability to include straps or be strapless, and are often purchased with panties in a matched set. A corset bustier is considered to be sexy apparel as it makes women’s breasts appear more massive and their little waists are greatly emphasized.
